Over the past few months I’e been splashing paint around at various festivals and gigs in Hull, all in aid of The Warren Youth Project. The Warren are an organisation who are committed to providing valuable support and services to vulnerable young people in Hull.
Working with Adam Brodie and the Speak Easy, I’ve put a collection of paintings together as some of Hull’s best and brightest musicians ply their trade. Painting live is something I always get a buzz from, and these gigs have been particularly great thanks to the amazing people I’ve shared the stage with. For the events, it’s all about combining music and art and giving the audiences something new.
Last night was the last of three events, culminating in an auction of the three paintings I put together, with all funds going towards the Warren. Thieving Harry’s, one of Hull’s best and most unique venues played host to four acts and me with my easel and brushes. Great music was played, art was created and money was raised for a wonderful cause. Not a bad night!
