My Little Big Town Publishing

My Little Big Town is heading in all sorts of new directions. I originally founded the company as an animation studio, with script writer Rikki Colrein. While this is still the core focus of the business, we’ve also decided to venture into a few other fields and see how it goes.

A long term aim of mine has been to set up a publishing company, so that’s somewhere we’ll be taking MLBT over the next few years. Having my own publishing company will have a few pretty big advantages… firstly I can get books and comics out much quicker. Without all of the people that inevitably come in between writer and shelf space, I can get titles on sale far more efficiently… in theory. It also gives me the change to help out some of the great people I work with in the course of my freelance illustration ‘day-job’. I know dozens of self-published authors who will be able to take advantage of the new publishing side of MLBT to promote and publish their work.

As it is, we’re still in the early stages of setting everything up but going into 2010 things are looking pretty interesting.
